So went to my local Petsmart to get some cat food. Right next door is a Guitar Center. Well somehow I found myself inside, cat food in hand.

Long story short, came home with cat food and this beautiful Fender Japan Sting Signature P-Bass! I could not resist! It played and sounded incredible and with the Flats on it has a killer old school vibe. Plus it was in excellent condition and got it for less than $900.

Just figured out it has D’Addario Chromes on it which sound great. I did order a Retrovibe replacement bridge. Looks like the stock two saddle bridge, but it has four saddles for better intonation.

lol. Everyone asks about that when I take a photo in there.

Last year I ordered from AliExpress or one of those Chinese market place sites a knockoff of a one off Spector built for Kip Winger that had a Rickenbacker body with a Spector neck and electronics. It looked really cool which is why I ordered it. Apparently they were out of stock so had to wait for more to be manufactured.

After waiting months and 100’s of emails they said they finished it and it shipped.

All excited when I got it, opened the box to find they shipped me the wrong bass! That black 5 string Rick knockoff.

I was sooo pissed. I contacted the seller and they said they would have to make more. No way I was going to wait another 3 months, so they fully refunded me and told me I can keep the wrong bass.

So the bass is your typical Chinese knockoff junk! Looks like it was made by blind people, the neck has a bad back bow. Unfortunately the truss rod is useless! Shame, it actually didn’t sound too bad. So now it’s just wall art!

These are a nice replacement for the 2 saddle bridge. Three screw mount just like the original 2 saddle bridge. Through body and through bridge option.

Not to distract from your wonderful and fantastic find, the Sting Bass.

I bought one when they first came out and I can't remember the year, maybe 20 yrs ago. I got mine at Sam Ash and they were $600 new at the time.

Later on, a music store out in California (can't remember the name) had a brand new CIJ Blue Paisley SCPB for sale for $400 and I bought it on-line. I switched necks with the Sting Bass because I greatly disliked the 12th fret signature! A perfect swap of necks. I sold the Blue Paisley for $500 and pocketed $100.

My original Sting Bass bridge was set back too far, about 1/4" to 3/8". When I replaced the bridge with this 4 saddle, I had to remount the bridge to the correct position. The way it was, the darn saddles were at the very, very end of the bridge plate.

I like these bridges for 2 saddle replacements. No re-drilling required. A perfect replacement.

Here's my Sting Bass. It's the only photo that I have at the moment. (I added an ebony thumb bar.)

Once again, congratulations on your EXCELLENT find for under $900! The Sting Basses are VERY WELL made! And look great!

I like the RetroVibe bridge because it retains the look of the original 2-saddle bridge.

Congrats on the new Sting P!

I bought one new way back when. Shortly afterward, a replacement neck without the Stinglay was on E-Bay so I grabbed it and put it on. Like you, I changed out the bridge with a Fender Deluxe for easier intonation. This one is going to the grave with me. Hope you enjoy yours just as much.
