Just got this from Japan. Amazed it arrived unscathed given the poor packaging. Electronics suck so it's getting EMGs and an LHZ preamp! Help me decide on a pickup color.

I’d keep the black, given those choices. Definitely not the red. The white is too white - but if you could get cream colored, that might be the ticket. All IMHO of course.

So the natural finished bass on the left is a 1977 Ibanez Challenger P bass. I bought the neck and body off Reverb for cheap last year. Frets needed a ton of work but it's a serious player now. The other one is a complete Frankenstein project fretless haha.

I went with red! I really dig the look. Took me quite a while to figure out how to combine the two EMG pickups to one volume knob last night (hence why no strings yet). I had to put jumper cables in the battery bus that comes with the pickups.
