I finally came to the Dark Side. I had no intention to buy it, but I was looking to trade in my pedalboard because I couldn't sell it. In the back of my mind I knew I wanted a P-bass on the cheap to try out and see if the tone worked for me. Came out with a mixed parts bass, Fender Jazz neck on a Squier 20th Anniversary P body. Love the neck, classic P bass thump which actually offers more versatility than expected by adjusting the tone knob. Completely unintentional, but it also matches my hot rod red MMIJ Jaguar

I do want to change the pickguard though, the white is too white for me. Cream maybe? Or brushed gold? (Poll) I might upgrade the pickups eventually too, but they sound pretty darn good as are.

Cream or pearloid will soften the white which is very contrasty with the red. Black will work but doesn't look as pleasant in my view. Tort will give a vintage vibe as the neck looks a 60's neck. In fact the neck and body don't really match. The body doesn't have much wear and the neck does. Pearloid will reduce the contrast and add a vintage note as well matching the neck.

Regards
Davo
