Finally took the time to shoot some pics of my new crown jewel! I got it on Thursday and Wwwwwooooooowwwwwww!!! Could not be happier or more impressed with this instrument. It absolutely lives up to the hype. The tonal pallet is just limitless.

- Fodera Monarch Elite
- Koa top
- Chambered black limba body with flamed maple tone block
- EMG pickups active P/J (wow!), choice inspired by Victor Wooten
- 9-pc white oak neck ("slim/fast" carve) with - bubinga stringers
- Indian rosewood fretboard (amazing compound radius)
- Abalone dots & tulips

She's a beauty! It's very interesting, Fodera is the first company that I have seen use oak, for reasons that I don't know, unless it is heavy or possible wood engineering reasons.

Probably weight, and it's pretty hard on tools. Can also have a deep and coarse grain, but that's more of a selection issue, I suppose. Also, could be partly a matter of tradition since Fender and Gibson haven't used it as a neck wood afaik.
