That looks incredible man. How's the weight? Judging from the shirts and amp setup I assume you guys play metal. Would love to also hear some jazz clips if you play that kind of thing as well.

The weight isn't very bad! And my friend in the pic is actuallu wearing my band's logo shirt. Haha My band is called "Of Ruins" Death metal/deathcore band based in San Antonio, TX.

I used to play bass in jazz band in high school. I can probably find some of my sheet music for some old songs and record some clips.

Congrats, that's a killer bass! I almost picked up a Thumb SC5 on here a while back but the deal didn't work out. I'm in San Antonio as well, did you order yours thru a local shop in SA?

Yes, I ordered it from my friend Vince at Lark Guitars. It's THE best guitar shop around. Excellent, gear, service, EVERYTHING.

That is one VERY attractive bass! 20 mm spacing? >sigh< I wish my hands were bigger/fingers longer. ;-)

What tuning and string gauges to you use?

I usually use D'addario 32-130 strings and I tune my bass to Drop A. Right now I'm using the Warwick EMP strings it came with. They last a while and sound pretty good.
My guitarist uses 8 string guitars tuned to Drop A with a low E. We're also going to start playing some songs in Drop G and I'll be using 135's on another bass I'm about to purchase.

wow... that's really nice man! i think usually in this type of music the bass gets drowned out, but i can hear your playing and i actually like it a lot! nice job and enjoy the new bass!
