NBD German Warwick Thumb SC 6 string broadneck in nirvana black oil

A few days ago I finally received my brand new Thumb SC bass. I ordered it in nirvana black oil and it was colored through the custom shop. I love everything about this bass. There is no neck dive at all when I play it. The neck is a little thick, not horribly thick though but it's very comfortable and fast. I love the 20mm string spacing. The tones you can get with this bass are unbelievable. I tune it to Drop A. I'm using the Warwick EMP strings it comes with. They're actually pretty good! Not like a lot of coated strings that are out there. It came with a pretty good setup right out of the case. I only had to do a slight set up because I prefer SUPER low action. I'm running it through an Ampeg SVT CL 300 watt head, Ampeg 8x10 cab and a Darkglass B7K. My band is about to enter the studio to record our album, and once we finish and put it out, I'll record some samples of the tones I use. If you can save up the money to purchase a Thumb SC, do it. It's worth every penny. I've played this bass for about 2-3 hours every day since it arrived and I can't get enough of it. If you'd like to see more pics, just let me know!

Sweet! So is the neck wenge on maple?

The neck is a 5 piece maple neck with ekanga veneer stripes. The body wings are US swamp ash with an African Bubinga Pommelé top. So amazing! My fretless Warwick has a wenge neck and it sounds awesome!

Yeah they are crazy expensive but you really are getting a custom instrument and as far as Warwick basses go these do hold their value pretty well.

I've got a Stage I 5 that's a broadneck and it only weighs 9.75 pounds. Really surprised me as I expected a much heavier bass, but it's balances so well and feels even lighter than it is.

That's a great weight! Most I have seen are 11-13 lbs., not that I have seen a whole bunch of them.

Congrats, that's a killer bass! I almost picked up a Thumb SC5 on here a while back but the deal didn't work out. I'm in San Antonio as well, did you order yours thru a local shop in SA?

20mm is huge. I played a Broadneck Streamer six once, and it was huge. I am pretty sure that 20mm with a five would be fine.
