My $25 garage sale Daisy Rock easily holds its own against its name brand brethren.

The Kitty is the only maple board hardtail single humbucker as far as I know. I forgot the maple part earlier.

Nice to see all the love for the Daisy Rock. I'll give it a proper NBD when I get it though that might not be for a couple weeks. I have high hopes for the quality as just about everything I've heard about these over the years has been positive.
As for the haggling, I did get MIL to make an offer for less than they were asking and they accepted.

Just picked it up. It looks mint. Still has plastic over the control cavity.
The case is a Gator hardshell. Levy's leopard print strap. Nice Spectraflex 21' cable. Combined retail price for the case and accessories is more than I paid!
The pictures show the sparkle finish ok, but in reality it's VERY sparkly. The only wear of any kind that I can find is a spot on the E string where some of the pink appears to be worn off from pick use.
The case is a Gator hardshell. Levy's leopard print strap. Spectraflex 21' cable. Retail on the the case and accessories are worth more than I paid!
Battery was completely dead but thankfully no leakage. Put a new battery in and it sounds very nice. Nothing dramatic enough to say it has it's own sound, but it's a satisfying range of tone from the 2-band preamp that is definitely in the same realm with other similarly equipped Ibanez/Yamaha/ESP instruments. Controls appear to be Vol/Bal/High/Low
The neck is much too skinny for me (I like P-bass necks) and it doesn't fit my vintage instrument aesthetic but despite myself I really like it. Tight neck pocket, not discernible flaws in the fit or finish. Bridge is the now-common reliable 201 clone and I was pleasantly surprised to see Grover tuners so the hardware should be very reliable.
I think we've all known for a while that Daisy Rock makes solid gear. This bass bears that out as it is definitely a respectable, well made bass guitar for a player that is in no way pandering to a female audience.
I'm definitely keeping the case, cable and strap. Now I've got to decide whether to flip it or save it for a few years and see if my daughter will want it someday. On the one hand it was a great deal on a nice instrument. On the other it's almost as tall as she is so it might be best to sell it now. Further, if she gets into playing, shopping for an instrument with her on her terms would be a great part of the experience.
I'm going to take it to church practice this evening and see how it performs before deciding whether to put it up for sale.

Played the daisy rock last night for about an hour and a half at church practice. Sounded even better in a group setting. Got some funny looks too. One of the keyboardists wants me to bring it to every service but I think he might have been messing with me. The Carlo will be back on Sunday.
A good experience all around but, the neck is still too skinny and I don't need another bass. I spoke to my wife about whether we should save it for my daughter and she said "sell it" so this is off to the block.

I like it! but I'd keep it and place it where your 5yr old can see and touch it to build up interest in that gigantic beyootiful pink thing ...and then plug it in one day lol just to watch her eyes bug out. could be the clincher.
