Update 7/3 Just picked it up from the Mother In Law. It's very nice!. Pictures and first impressions Here On Page 2. From 6/7... So A Daisy Rock will be coming home courtesy of Mother in Law's quick thinking at a garage sale. It's alot of pink: pink strings, pink cable and leopard print strap! Not sure if I'll save it for my daughter or flip it. Full report when I get it which should be in a couple weeks. Comes with a Hardshell too, though it's not pink.
Does your daughter want to play bass? If so, put some good strings on it, maybe GHS black tapewounds, and give it a good setup.
No idea. She's 5. It would be a bit before she'd be ready for this one. She'd love the pink strings though! Thanks. Flower would be fun. I was hoping for a short scale but this is 34". Heaven help me that girl probably will.
Ha! My niece is going on five and I'm thinking about buying this, just in case...flatwounds, not those weird rubbery strings!
I actually had a uke bass and occasionally my son would play with it but I sold it when he was 5 and she was 3.
I'm probably wouldn't but I take 2 basses to each gig and I'm considering taking it just to see the look on the band leaders face when I pull it out of the case.
I've always wanted to get a Daisy Rock and turn it into a metal machine - swap in crazy high output pickups, put on a Floyd Rose or maybe Traben SonicArt bridge, etc. .
@Nephilymbass . You're a Metal Lord. I dares ya to rock one of those (with pink strings) at your next gig.
Funny thing is I’ve played shows where guitarist in other bands would break out like a hello Kitty guitar at a metal show for a song or two lol
That really does deserve to be gigged, leopardskin strap and all. The pink strings are an aftermarket bonus.
Daisy Rock guitars and basses are actually quite decent sounding besides being just flat out cool. DRG president Tish Ciravalo designed the first models and took it to Michael Ciravolo, (her husband) who is the president of Schecter Guitar Research for vetting. So it’s not like they’re toys. Tish is a rocker from way back. Started in guitar but shifted to bass. She’s one of us.
