If yer asking RIC’s sound to my ears is treble heavy, a bit clanky, and has an aggressive tone especially using a pick.
So RIC tone is something you can get from just about any bass with lowish action and a bridge pickup :roflmao:

Anyone know if you pay customs/fees on these and if so is it a percentage of the total price? Might be worth it to toss another bass or two in the cart with it?
In the years I dished out numbers in TB's "I own a Harley Benton" club and my time as moderator for the Harley Benton forum not once did hear of anyone in the US paying customs or fees. The US threshold before duty kicks in is >$800 , that $800 includes shipping and insurance. Shipping is a flat fee for Europeans but problems during Covid saw Thomann sign a deal with the Devil (UPS) for North American customers, now you folks pay something like $65 for first bass then $30 for a second.

A wee tip, feel free to ignore.

Try and make every Thomann order work to your benefit. Take a look outside the Harley Benton lines. For example , TI jazz flats are $86 from Sweetwater but just $48 at Thomann; couple of packs moved on for $65 will cover half your shipping fee

Yep! especially if you rub a little dirt in it. ;)

Got it! That’s what I was looking for thanks on the Thomann tip. Cheers!

Mine is pretty great and since this is the only legit Ric copy on the market it's definitely worth the price. I am rather impressed on the quality and tonal variety the RB offers. I've had more expensive basses that were not as good. A great deal if you don't want to shell out a few grand for an actual Ric.
