I acquired a 2006 Hofner Ignition Club Bass recently from my local pawn shop. It had not been there for long and I got a good deal since it was virtually unplayable at the time.
The electronics all worked as designed, but someone had botched an attempt at a setup. Biggest problem was the floating bridge; it was in the wrong place, and the strings were not riding on the metal saddles. The next problem was that the neck looked like a ski jump. I'm not an expert at setups but I was able to position the bridge correctly and set the intonation as close as I can get it. Adjusting the truss rod was a little more challenging; it took several attempts over a few days. The neck finally stabilized once it acclimated to my music room. The action is still a bit high, but the bass is now playable and sounds pretty good. I also have an Epiphone Viola Bass (copy of the Beatle Bass) that seems much sturdier than the Club Bass. The Club Bass is completely hollow and is really light weight, so that's probably the difference in the feel.
The color is black, but in bright light you can see that it's really a very dark gray, and you can see the grain of the wood thru the color. Other than being unplayable when I bought it, the bass is in really good condition. The problem now is finding a case that it will fit in to. I know that cases for the Club bass are available at times, but I'm not willing to pay the price for a new one, plus they seem to be currently out-of-stock at most retailers.
It still needs some cleaning up, but here are the mandatory pics:
