Not to drag this on... but I really dislike the inconvenience of rehearsals. I get how it can be fun for some, but it's not for me. Most rehearsal spaces for me are 45 - 60 minutes away, and I have a VERY full schedule. A rehearsal means I lose a night I could be doing something else - even if that means just relaxing. Being able to work on tunes a half hour here and there when time allows is a gift to me. The others in my band feel the same, and all have enough experience to be able to work on their own, responsibly. We cover tunes as they're recorded, and we all know what we need to do.
At the same time, I don't knock rehearsals for people who have the time and desire. And I've had bands where there were rehearsals I used to look forward to. If I had an original band I'd be wanting to rehearse every week. If I had rehearsals in my basement, I might even be happy rehearsing covers once a week
. That's all. Apologies if my earlier response was a little dick-ish too... I kinda thought it was. The ol defensiveness kicked in a wee bit.

as soon as I sell off at least three basses I currently own.
