Interesting looking bass. Looking at where the strap attaches, about the 17th fret, does the neck dive? Seems with that placement the balance may be off. Just curious.

I'd say it has enough weight on my left hand to notice it, but not terribly so. The length of the body at the butt of the thing helps some as does the 32" scale neck. It hangs by itself on the strap I use, but yeah, it's on the edge.

Real talk though, if you're open to just working a body blank to accommodate a mustang neck and 30" scale LMK.

Originally I intended to incorporate a pickguard but routed it in such a way I wouldn't have to use one.... I'm leaning toward leaving it like this though.

Great job on the bass!! Looks good as is so I wouldn't bother with a guard.
