I’m another that bought for my daughter but had been curious after reading how cool they are and totally surprised how good it played and sounded.

Beautiful! Congrats!Greetings TB'ers. Happy Friday. Today I received my new Ibanez Mikro bass left handed. I bought it from Dave Hoffman at Sweetwater. He followed through with the sale and provided delivery tracking. Nice guy and a cool bass player too. First class service. Free candy too!
I had asked him to have the warehouse to pick out the lightest one, per @pcake 's suggestion, and sure enough they sent one at least a pound and a half lighter than my last one! I had to flip the strings as I play left handed but string right handed. The neck is absolutely silky. I know with most of these economy basses the neck will have fret wire issues or dips etc. but this one was perfect. Sweetwater does a 40 point inspection and it did come in nearly perfect. It will be once I adjust the truss and string height.
Playing around with the controls, they are pretty lively. Turning off the P pickup, the bass sounds really like a single coil reminiscent of a J bass, and turning off the J pickup the P pickup gives the bass a nice thumpy P style sound. If I turn on the P-pickup about 25% and the J-pickup 100% surprisingly I get a tone very similar to my EBMM bass. All in all, great purchase for me, great service from Sweetwater. And I'm not an employee! LOLL!

Thanks!Congrats, man! Nice snag. I love my Mikro.
Thanks @jmlee . It's a LowdownSound copy of the DNA Micro112. I use it with a GK MB200 and that little guy is really loud and bottomy. It weighs about 27 pounds. Amazing how small and light good sounding gear has gotten nowadays! Those are remarkable little basses. I set up my daughter’s and was quite amazed. I also really like the amp under the desk...![]()
Yes they are. I've taken years to get used to the reverse configuration. Sometimes on stage I'll accidentally turn the controls the wrong way and sometimes turn my bass down when I mean to turn it up!Does the volume/tone knobs increase going counterclockwise??

Thanks everyone for the well-wishers! I got the neck, strings, and bridge fine-tuned and it plays like a dream now. I think I'm going to try it out at our next live gig--whenever that is.................???
