NBD... Ibanez rd707 circa 1988

This is an Ibanez Rd707 from 1988. It no longer has the sticker with the serial number. its original color was tangerine and from my research that dates it to 1988. it appears that this was the only year the color tangerine was made. The pickups were relplaced with active EMG pickups and the knobs were replaced with white fender strat knobs.

It sounds amazing amazing. i was shopping for an Ibanez with humbucker. But I fell in love with the tone and the neck feels divine. The only thing is that i already have a GSR 200 that was upgraded to passive EMGs by the previous owner. So it sounds very similar. I am contemplating wheter or not to sell the gsr 200 or hang onto it. I like the neck on th GSR, the EMGs and am attached to it. It was the bass that made me fall in love with Ibanez.

But I just cant justify having two basses with the p/j configuration even though one is active and the other is passive.

Pics will be uploaded later today.

The RD 707's are wonderful basses. I have a 1989 version of it (black) though I intend to get it airbrushed and find a backup RD707 some day soon. great bass man. GSR is a descent bass, but I would put the RD light years ahead of anything below a premium bass (made in indonesia) built by Ibanez these days. 80's RD's are premo pieces of craftsmanship.
