Woo! First post & first bass. I'm mostly a guitar player (not that I'm any good) and I've just started doing some recording, so I wanted to pick up a bass so I could record the bass tracks too. I'd had my eye on a couple inexpensive Harley Bentons, but this gem popped up on Facebook Marketplace. I had my eye on these orange Ibanezes in the past, and for the ripe sum of $100, I couldn't pass it up.
As soon as I got it home it went into the garage and I wiped the whole thing down with disinfecting wipes (current pandemic and all), then gave it my usual cleaning procedure. I cleaned the frets with steel wool, cleaned the fretboard, then cleaned parts of it again with something stronger to get the finger schmutz off, then coated it in Feed-N-Wax. While that was setting up, I polished the body & headstock with a good cleaner wax.
So far I'm really happy with the bass. It seems to have a ton of neck relief, but I want it to acclimate to my house before I play with the truss rod. I need to pick up a new knob for the volume pot.
