NBD-Ibanez SR750-NTF

Congrats on the purchase! I own this bass also and it's a pretty awesome piece of equipment. The Nords sound great and I've always liked the sheen that the preamp puts into the core sound. It sounds good passive as well.

I've also got the six-string version - the SR756NTF, which I use more often (I don't really play the four-string).

I love SRs and that is a clean looking 4. I'd find it hard to think of a gig where that bass wouldn't look appropriate, except maybe a tribute band where you're trying to recreate an specific aesthetic.

Well, I am getting older and the last couple of gigs I have played seemed like a very physical endeavor. I love my Jazz Bass but my shoulder doesn't. I have owned Ibanez basses in the past so I thought I might take a stroll downtown to my local store here on Okinawa. With the exchange rate being very favorable I found this one and it came home with me. Loving it so far.

Very nice. Congrats.

Okinawa is beautiful. My son was stationed there and we had a chance to visit. Got a tour of the mainland as well.

I have one which I bought just before they were discontinued. It's a great bass, easy to play and an amazing variety of tones. Was it brand new? If so, it must've been in the store for a looooonnnnng time. I love mine!

I've just bought this exact same bass for the exact same reason. Got mine from a private sale – in fact I was looking for an Ibanez SR in general and this came up. I love it too - with a little set up it plays beautifully. Only thing I notice is if you play it unamplified, you don't get much sound, where as the jazz has a nice tone even if not plugged in. So I'll see how it sounds at next band practice (and next gig). Have you gigged with yours yet? Cheers, FF

Welcome to TB...don't forget to complete your profile and spring for a supporting membership.

Post a pic or two! The "700" series is one of my favorites although they did switch-out the platform a few years back (...mine has 2 MK1 soapbars). I see these only rarely in the classifieds.

Lack of unamplified volume? Could be for any number of reasons including string install & set-up. Then again, Fender is maple & alder / ash...Ibanez mixes it up a bit in that department.
