The preamp is very dynamic! A wide range of tones at your fingertips. I like to very much. Was looking at the very same bass - ergnomically it is hard to finder a better bass than an ibanez. How do you like the preamp in it?
The bridge pickup gets the jazz bass vibe done right. It looks very niceHow do you find it's tone in comparison with a Jazz Bass? Recently I bought a SR1205 with Nordstrand Big Singles hoping it will sound more or less like a Jazz Bass, but it doesn't.
Well, I am getting older and the last couple of gigs I have played seemed like a very physical endeavor. I love my Jazz Bass but my shoulder doesn't. I have owned Ibanez basses in the past so I thought I might take a stroll downtown to my local store here on Okinawa. With the exchange rate being very favorable I found this one and it came home with me. Loving it so far.

I have one which I bought just before they were discontinued. It's a great bass, easy to play and an amazing variety of tones. Was it brand new? If so, it must've been in the store for a looooonnnnng time. I love mine!Well, I am getting older and the last couple of gigs I have played seemed like a very physical endeavor. I've just bought this exact same bass for the exact same reason. Got mine from a private sale – in fact I was looking for an Ibanez SR in general and this came up. I love it too - with a little set up it plays beautifully. Only thing I notice is if you play it unamplified, you don't get much sound, where as the jazz has a nice tone even if not plugged in. So I'll see how it sounds at next band practice (and next gig). Have you gigged with yours yet?
