NBD - Incoming - FENDER PLAYER II PRECISION

Expected to deliver today while I play house rhythm section on an all-day, multi-band annual event - will have to wait until the wee hours tomorrow to unbox.

I sold my Player I P earlier this week with the hopes of finding something significantly lighter-weight - I'm an old dude with a permanently separated shoulder. My J bass is a nice 8 lbs, 5 ozs, and I've worn it comfortably for similar events as today.

I was about to pull the trigger on a nice sunburst 8 lbs, 6 ozs used P on Reverb, but when shipping from CA was included, the price was within $20 of a brand new Player II at Sweetwater, which doesn't charge shipping. I watched a couple days and found one that weighed 8 lbs, 5 ozs. When I called to place the order, my rep told me the weight was a typo - It's actually 8 lbs, 3 ozs.

Incoming - Trigger Warning - It's not a quiet color:

I hope there is somebody you trust where it’s being delivered.

Great basses! The Player II in general are great, I have a Jazz bass too. My P-Bass is a limited edition and love the color. It plays so nice, you’ll enjoy yours! Sound wise, sounds like a P-Bass! I may upgrade the pickup. I did install a Fender high mass bridge. I do that on most of my Fender basses. Not that there anything wrong with the stock bridge.

Could I ask a question about that 5-string Rick looking bass in the back? Is that a custom? Who built it? I'm looking to get a Rick custom bass from someone. Thanks!

I have one in an identical weight in Hialeah yellow and I love it.

Put GZR pickup and TI rounds on it and it punches well above its weight.

I'll unbox tomorrow/later today. If it passes the sniff test, I've got a Lollar standard wind split-P sitting on my desk that I swapped back out of my P1 P before selling it.

I'm in music retail (The House of Guitars in Rochester NY) and get to play everything that comes in the store. I absolutely love the Player II Series, everything you need and nothing you don't. Fender Mexico has really upped thier game, I like the Player II series even better than some of the USA offerings. Congratulations on your beautiful new Precision Bass!
