Found this today in a local Pawn Shop, 2018 Fender American Performer Precision with Fender Hard/Flite case. It is now my second PJ that I own ....Im thinking about a Tort pickguard for it

I am the same way even though I usually lock onto the P pick up for 90% of what I do. I don't mind a single pick up when I'm using flat wound but with rounds I want the J pick up in back just in case. Cool score!

Nice bass! I like the P pickup alone for 1/5 country thumping but most other things need some J blended in.

Every time I go to get a P bass, I get something else. I'm a long time J bass guy, w many other basses in my past.
I really liked a p elite from 2 years ago, even the color, great neck! But, I just didn't use it much. Went to get a really nice white/white EMG equipped, Status necked P ( ok, so I'm no purist) yesterday, but found a 90's Modulus with Lane Poors and a Demeter pre. Guess which one I got…

As Brittany said, " Oops, I did it again." Or something like that, I'm an old guy, so I really don't care if the quote is accurate or not, so long as I get the idea across…

As much as I love tort, that looks perfect, the way it is.

Also prefer a Jazz or twin buckers, but thanks to my Yamaha, I have new appreciation for the PJ configuration. Rock on.

tort or mint would look great. i always change out black unless it's a natural bass. this is not a standard P-bass size, though, be careful

I am not normally one to be in the tort school mindset but I think it would look great with the blue. I have that same bass in 3TSB with a rosewood neck and black guard. I have spent a lot of time contemplating a guard change and I keep coming back to liking the black. If you change it make sure you keep the original . As Mike Vee says above, make sure you order one for the Performer P bass.

Love PJs. There are torts and there are torts. The tort on my black PJ would not work well with the color of your bass.
