The wife and I plan to have a collection of instruments on hand for our kid to experiment on. She already has a violin, piano, assorted wind and percussion instruments that she plays with daily. I happened upon an ad here for a short scale SX P bass.
She loves it, obviously she has some growing to do before she can play it for real, but she is getting a kick out of strumming on it while singing her made up songs. I need to pick up some new strings, dress the fret ends, shim the neck, etc. I'm thinking of putting a Hipshot Kickass bridge and a Delano P pickup in it for her too. *IF* she pursues bass at all, she'll be set for quite a few years
