I went to guitar center to noodle around on some basses. I saw some dude walking around the store with a bass and thought nothing of it. When I left he was in the parking lot and he approached me and asked if I wanted to buy a bass. I'm kinda suspicious about those kind of things, but I decided to play along. I asked whadda ya got and whadda ya want? He handed me his bass. It was a Sterling Musicman sub series with the dual HB pups. I said let's go inside and try her out. I had one of the GC guys look at it and asked him it it was legit or fake. He told me it was legit and that they had a used one just like it for sale for $349. So I noodled around on it for a few minutes, neck is straight, set up is low, intonation is good, all the buttons work, preamp works. I asked the guy ok, how much? He said $220. I told him give me your rock bottom drop dead take it home with you now price. He said $140! I asked what's going on, he told me he was going through some tough life issues. So, I now own a Sterling StingRay 4HH sub series in Chopper Blue! I didn't need it, nor was I looking for it, but it was too good to pass up. That guy gave me a little gas! Gas pains are gone, now I'm just a grinnin' like a villin. Oh, and no extra charge for the strap and fender rubber strap locks!
