Well, he's into it for $140, if he gets full asking then he's $210 up, figure what? $100 - $120 shipping, he makes between $90 & $110.
It's more dinking around than I'd like to do for that amount but I'm really lazy.
He's flipping it. Possibly hot merchandise is not something you want hanging around.
I went on the local GC’s website based on the sellers location on reverb and it looks like they have an indentical bass listed for sale. Slight price difference though.

From the Reverb add: Selling my Sting Ray 4 HH IN Chopper Blue. It’s priced to sell and I’ll consider offers. I’m selling it because I don’t play it all that much. It’s too nice of a bass to just have it sitting around.
So which one is it? Is it a "NBD, Kinda" or has this been sitting around not being played? I just looked at the Reverb ad and it indicated it was posted 2 hours ago. The TB posting was made yesterday.
Just tell the truth dude. This is some great stuff here, I love Florida Man stories...

So it begs the question, which is the lie? The TB post or the reverb post? This is some shady stuff here.
I’m thinking both are lies. Dude steals bass, wants to post it on reverb, if authorities come looking for it he’s got this documented story about how he’s not the one who stole it.

Fun is fun, I get it, and I can take a joke as well as the next guy. But moving from that to seriously implying that I stole a bass and then sell it is crossing the line. Let's have fun and yes, poking fun at each other comes with the territory, bass player jokes abound, 
but let's know where to draw the line. The bass I bought did have the hanger on it. The hanger also has a date of 2022 on it. The bass has signs of use, so it's not new off the shelf. I tried to share what I thought was a good experience and it went in a different direction that I thought it would.
My final disclaimer, I have no reason to believe the bass was stolen. If I did, honestly guys, think about it, would any of us buy a bass thinking it was stolen? Wouldn't we put ourselves in the place of the guy who had his bass stolen? Even if it was stolen from a store, would we encourage that behavior? I don't think you would and I know I wouldn't.
Yes, Florida is a funny place and not lacking in funny stories.
