NBD: Miami Blue Pro II w pickguard selection

So I picked up a Pro II P-bass. Odd that over all these years / basses that I've never had a "Pro II P". Now what got me here was the color. Pics don't reflect how stunning that that color is live. So I got it. Then the weight / balance .... oh my ..... I've had lighter and heavier. But none with this balance. I can play hands free. I'm starting to get impressed here. The neck is ok - no complaints there. I kinda like the tinting on it. But it came with round wound strings. Uh... No.... flats will be here tomorrow. I tried the rounds. I don't "get it" for a P bass. But the question of the night comes down to pickguards. Thats an odd color to mate with.... or is it?

Original is "ok". But I have these others laying around in the garage. So.....
Mint - Is only slightly darker - slightly better?
Brown tort - While a favorite of mine, it's not working for me here.
Black plate - Uh....... yeah........ maybe.
Gold plate - I've seen this before - its good - dunno

Stock parchment pickguard are nice enough.

I tried to make it a vote - it looked like thats what I did - then when I hit send it wasn't a VOTE anymore. I'm old.... probably my fault.
The GOLD and MINT are looking strong. I like em too ..... but that BLACK (in person) is impressive.

Black anodized, the others aren't even close...unless you want your bass to look like so many other basses.
Oh yeah, hold onto the flatwounds and get a set of GHS black tapewounds instead...perfect tension, smooth as silk, amazing tone, and they look good, too, especially with maple.

Congrats on a stunning new bass OP!

I have owned an Am Pro II P Bass in Miami Blue for five years, so I know what this bass looks like in person. Pictures don't do the finish justice. I vote for either gold or the stock mint green one. My pickguard is still the stock mint green because I spent too much money on upgrading the stock pickups (to an EMG Geezer Butler set) and replacing the tuners (after three of them broke or came loose) last year. But I would switch to gold if something happened to my pickguard.
