NBD! Mockingbird!

check out my killer old school Mockingbird i just got! this thing is soooooo rad! top end neck thru body construction with all the bells and whistles. full on crazy neal moser active booster preamp circuit. the white finish has aged to a beautiful creamy vintage white that is to die for. no nicks or dings on the points. just a little finish scratch on the back. i'm pretty sure it's a late 70's and not an early 80's. beautiful rosewood headstock too. the neck is straight as an arrow. the frets are in great shape with tons of life left in them. the truss rod works both ways and the action is super low. i am totally in love with this bad boy. gonna name him Frost!

The bass looks great but the F on the headstock is throwing me off. Also the lack of the badass bridge.

Oh !!! I got in a second late. Fernandes !!! Once upon a time I whiffed on getting a Fernandes Alembic series 1 copy.

Those ones with the Moser-style electronics are really cool.

On a side note, are the bolt-on versions with the 'L' serial numbers any good? They look to be the same thing as an old NJ series.
i don't know, i've never had any experience with any of those. but i can say with confidence that THIS one is easily as good or better than any real handmade american BC Rich i have ever seen or played. the guy i bought it from was totally implying that he believed them to be made by the same company. not that it isn't a japanese bass, but that the "handmade american" BCRs probably were made by Fernandes as well. really makes you think tho. this thing is AMAZING and i have played quite a few B.C. Supremes.

They were made in the early 90's.
