What's up bassist. Today just scooped up a $300 Schecter Model T bass!

it's not a new model (with spb/ sjb2 pickups!) this one has "Duncan designed".. Thinking about switching them out soon. (Any options?) it's got some dings! But my mim jazz bass got a crapped out neck so I just got this! Heard they were nice. Has a nice tone through a Galien combo.. It's killer! Jamming with it tonight. What else would be good to mod? Lemme know bassist! Thanks.

(no tone knob?)

What are good upgrades?

New strings of your liking and a good setup to start. I'd play it for a while before replacing the pickups because the Duncan Designed are pretty darn good. You might open it up and check for shielding and good solder joints at the pots at some point, but unless there's something that bothers you right off I'd spend more time than money on it for now. Just my 2 cents.

A set up and some flats might make it perfect! Maybe the pick ups should stay for a little!

Awesome bass! I've been wanting one of those for a long time, but it seems the only ones that I find when I have the money are the rosewood board ones, and I would prefer the maple with sunburst.

Anyway, I agree with macmanlou, put new strings on it and give it a good set up and go from there.

I wonder if it has been modified already? IIRC, the original run had stacked pots (though I don't recall the exact config, I'll have to see if I still have the issue of Bass Player mag with the review), and then they changed them to Volume, Volume, Tone. That bass has two single knobs. Both volume?

Both volume. For each pickup!

Pick up wise.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Duncan Quarter Pounders are pretty good and reasonably priced. I think you'll notice a huge improvement with some decent after-market pickups.

As mentioned, it looks like your bass may have been modded. Never seen one with just two vol knobs, and no tone knob.
