I was in your shoes last year, deciding between the Fender TF and the Ray Fretless. I went with the TF because of the P/J, and I like passive pickups on a fretless. I still get all gooey inside when I see a fretless Ray. Congrats!

Yeah I kinda wrestled with the choice between the TF and the SR although I am happy with my choice.
The EMG MMTW does make a big difference. The ability to change from dual coil to single coil is really a benefit. Like from Pino mellow to Jaco bite and growl in a second. At 18 volts there is WAY more volume.
