NBD - my first 5 string!

I'd been thinking and talking about buying a 5 string for a while, so finally decided to pull the trigger. Didn't want to buy something expensive in case I decide it's not for me. Had a look around for budget 5 strings, looked at a sub stingray then saw the Sire M2 basses on thomann.

Ta-da! It's really unlike me to buy something without trying it first, but it paid off! How this bass only cost me £315 I don't know - it's flawless! The finish is superb (looks loads better in person can't get a pic that shows off the blue), great feeling neck, sounds fantastic, brilliant preamp, string-through. I think some companies should look at this and hang their heads in shame.

It will take me a while to get used to the extra string and bigger neck, but so far so good

Congrats! I played 4’s since i was a kid in the 80’s, bought my first 5 in oct 2014- (a Modulus Q-5)
It was the first 5 that i immediately gravitated towards. Been playing 5’s ever since, love them, & the advantages they offer. Btw- it only took me a week of practicing it (2-3 hrs a day) to get used to it, & play with no clams. No worries there!

Congratulations on that superb purchase!

You know, before too long, 5 string will be the new 4 string to you. It comes more naturally than you would ever guess.
I firmly believe that those guys who 'just don't get a 5 and never will' are merely resistant to change and aren't allowing themselves to bond with a 5. Eh. They're the ones missing out :)

Enjoy!
