Walked into GC to get strings. Left with this. $1199 plus tax out the door. I’ve been a Fender guy my whole life. Do you think it’s worth keeping for the price? Or could I have done better buying used?

The “worth it” question I can’t answer as that’s pretty subjective. And it’s both fretted and a maple neck, which are not my things. That being said, that’s a damn fine bass by any standard and if I woke up one day and found one gift wrapped at the foot of the bed I wouldn’t consider selling it. Would probably start hunting real hard for an EB fretless rosewood neck for it so I could live out my lifelong dream of failing to be as cool as Tony Levin.

Good deal for the clearance. Used would have saved about 25 to 30%. With used, there is no warranty. And being the original owner is better if you plan to sell it later.

So... how do you like the sound and playability? Worth it?
