NBD, natural jazz with maple board

Hey there Talkbass, longtime no see.

As a (longtime?) Purely fretless player, I have long contemplated having just one freted bass for when that sound is needed. After much window-shopping I finally pulled the trigger on this bass.

I found it on reverb for a reasonable price, and the seller's description was essentially accurate. "Very clean with all black hardware mods".

Natural everything with black hardware is a look I absolutely dig.

Bass arrived last night, and after the obligatory set-up, it's a beaut.

Very clean indeed. If it weren't for the mods, this bass looks like it is fresh from the factory. Absolutely mint.
Pictures do not do justice to how gorgeous the grain is on this thing.
Very deep shimmer to the body, and a nice curly knot type thing around the 5-7 frets.
Just lovely.

My only issue is that this bridge, which looks quite slick, was apparently engineered by Satan.

My word did it take me an embarrassingly long time to adjust that bridge.

Looks wonderful. How heavy is it?
That's a good question. We don't have a scale, so, significantly less than my all maple carvin lb40 but more than my warmoth hollow body, which is like 6.5?
It's definitely substantial.
The bridge is more massive than stock, but the tuners are lighter hipshots. But then there is a de-tuner, and that's a bunch of metal too.
