NBD - New Jack Casady color!

Someone sounds happy. :D

It's beautiful, Matt. Much good luck with it.
Hard to believe, I've had mine almost 20 years.
Enjoy, and welcome to the club! :bassist:
Mine is below.

Holy cannoli that’s a nice bass. And wow! 20 years. I’m glad these stand the test of time! I’ve wanted one for around 15 years, so I’m super excited.

Hey all. So my girlfriend went above and beyond this Christmas. I told her not to, but she was able to start a new job, while I was sitting all of 2020 out, because I’m a full time bassist. She knew it was hard for me and she definitely lifted my spirits with this one.

Ive wanted a Jack Casady for years. YEARS. But I never pulled the trigger. I saw the new Sparkling Burgundy and I was blown away. She had asked a friend of mine what to get me and he knew I was a big fan of these and the new color. Fast forward to Christmas and she brought this out with a big bow on it. I was surprised, and she definitely won best girlfriend ever for it.

First off it plays like a dream and sounds massive, yet classy and clean. It’s light, but it feels like an absolute beast when you hold it. It feels like an expensive, well crafted instrument, and as far as I can tell it 100% is. Smooth neck, perfect tuning, a vintage dream come true. The grain and finish is flawless, and boy oh boy, it’s pretty. Epiphone hit a grand slam with this guy. The ONLY thing I don’t like on this or any bass, is the Laurel board. It’s so brittle. But the good thing is you can’t tell when you’re playing and it doesn’t get in the way or feel uncomfortable. Just my opinion on the overall feel and look of it. Also, the Epiphone strings are a little rough for me. I’ll put my go to set on tomorrow and it’ll be good to go!

Anyway, I’m sure you all know these Basses are winners. So here’s some pics. Happy Holidays!

Totally Awesome! Does she have a sister?( your GF, not bass)

Congratulations on your gorgeous new bass! That is a beauty. I have one in a gold top finish. Absolutely love it. I put Ernie Ball Cobalt flats on her and they sound wonderful! Congratulations on your girlfriend as well. She is a thoughtful and generous woman. Time to save for a ring.

You bet it is. She cemented her place with this one! Hahaha

It looks much better in your pics than the ones on sweetwater. Kinda looks like gumby on the site.

So....your out of work, ...for a year.
Your girl gets a job,...and buys you a new Jack Cassidy... in a beautiful new red finish.
Wow.....
Showers of blessings my man...
Showers of blessings

Haha for real. And it’s going to be longer than a year. My main gig is I’m in a full time wedding band. We have gigs all year. We had 90+ cancel in 2020. I played 4 total. And it’s not showing signs of getting better.
