Double Bass NBD - NS Design NXT4

She's purportedly a 2010's model. I got her on Reverb for $1175.00 including taxes and coast to coast shipping. Should be arriving Monday. My only axe for many years has been a heavily upgraded, Engelhardt EM-1 with a Fishman Full Circle into a Headway EDB-1 Preamp. I really bought the NXT4 for ergonomic reasons. At a month shy of 65 years, loading the Englehardt in and out of the cab of my truck and traversing stairs every week for rehearsals was eventually going to damage the bass or my back or both.
Any suggestions or insights from those with experience playing these?

The NS is a lovely electric upright. I have an NXT5 and a WAV4. I also play an Upton Double Bass and a Yamaha SLB. I'm ok with switching back and forth quite seamlessly. I've found a good angle to set the tripod stand that is comfortable for me, and I retrofitted the thumb stop which is helpful in simulating the neck heel.

Thanks Michael. Is the thumb stop still available? I didnt see it on the Golihur website.

Try shooting Gollihur an email. They may have one in the shop but not listed online. If I remember correctly, that's how I got mine. They are also listed on the thinkns site. I must admit, it seems like a stupid, overpriced chunk of wood, and as a professional carpenter you'd think I'd just fabricate my own. But I guess my time is valuable and I just want to get on with playing my bass. For me, it's worth the money as I find it very helpful in navigating the neck heel position.
