I've had this for a little while......but I just got it completed and "dialed-in" the way I want. It's the best "no frills", passive P/J I've ever played..hands down. It took a while but it was worth it.

Here's a "before pic":

I liked the way it looked fine without the pickguard.....but this bass really needed to have it.

Getting the right match on the pickups took a while, it hard to block-out a few hours multiple times with so few off days lately.

And it's funny...as far as the actual "set-up" goes, this thing was pretty much good to go right out of the box. All I had to do was put on the preferred strings, tune it down 1/2 step and intonate! It's a Jazz width neck but it's got a little "rump" to it and is amazingly rigid and stable.
