NBD - Olympic White P-bass, some issues.

Hey guys,

So I returned it to the store I got it from yesterday. It's a bit of an interesting situation, because I bought the bass from them with money I won in a local radio competition. So it's not as easy as going in there and saying "gimme my money back 'cause I'm going to buy something else somewhere else". I've never bought a bass without trying it first, and I almost always buy used, so this was not a good first experience with that.

They took it back without any hassle though, and I should hear soon what Fender plans to do to make things right.

good - hope they make right :)

Alright!

So exactly two weeks after I brought it back to the store, a new one has arrived - complete with correct tuners.

Here she is:

And the tuners:

Bonus - This one feels much lighter than the last one, and the figuring on the wood is way cooler. Guess it was worth the hassle in the end!

Yeah, it worked out in the end. The white is nice. I've always wanted an olympic white P with a maple neck, so when I won this money that was the first thing I went out for. They've made a lot of nice small refinements without sacrificing the old school vibe on these American P's too. The bridge is nice, the strap pegs are a lot more stable, the anniversary neck plate is neat too.

The other bonus that I just realized - took all the case candy out and forgot to return it with the defective bass. Now I have two sets of everything. Anyone looking for a fender strap, lol?

Sweet! I had an '08 just like that (minus the anniversary plate on the back!). Sometimes I wish I'd have kept it, but I already had a sunburst/rosewood '08 Am. Std. P, so I sold it. Beautiful combination though!

So after all the back and forth i may have missed the answer. Was it the wrong tuners or were the holes drilled wrong? The holes on thw original definitely looked fine to me. I suspect wrong tuners?
