Nice! I'd say that is earlier than an 89, judging by the trapezoidal bridge and the black knobs. 86 or 87 more likely.

Just going by serial# for date. Oh, I love it, but it takes getting use to. I prefer jazz basses. But, the tones you can get from this is awesome!!!

Update: Returned it. Too many issues with electronics. Kept cutting out, for no apparent reason. I was not about to spend another dime on it. Bummer!!!

I'm thinking it may still be the same bass. Bought it last week from a GC in Lansing. Had a problem with it cutting out, the barrel jack just needed to be replaced.

I want to say I have owned hundreds of basses and quite a few Foundations. This bass is absolutely one of the(if not the) BEST BASSES I have ever played EVER!! This bass has an alder body and not the usual poplar.

You're welcome!!! And I agree, it is one amazing bass. Sounds to me like it is the same one!!! In retrospect, I should have kept it and fixed it like I do everything I else I buy. Oh well, live and learn. Just so you know, I paid $160 at Manor Music!!!!

Here,s what a 84 foundation with super ferrites sounds like live,about 5.25 tone gets maxxed



drums micked but bass is not in PA-Orange terror 500 and SP212 cab.

How can you tell?

The weight, the look of the wood in the neck pocket, and the tone. Poplar sounds mushy to me compared to alder.
