I just picked up a bass nearly identical to KingRAW's above. Get this, it has the desirable flower below the Lotus logo, but...VERY faintly underneath, you can make out that it's also marked 'Hondo Deluxe Series 830.' You have to strain to see it. There's a just a slight mismatch in color between the body and the headstock, which might explain the logo oddity. How wild is that?
I had my luthier do a setup, replace a broken pot post, replace a chipped end of the pickguard, and notch the pickguard to allow for truss rod bolt access. It is clearly solid wood, because it weighs about 1,000 pounds! He said it's "as good as any Fender P bass out there." Even if that's a stretch...I paid FORTY-FIVE DOLLARS for this bass!
