NBD Possible vintage Lotus P bass.

Picked this up for $30 today. Guy asked me to sell an old Sunn Beta bass head. I did him pretty well and he sold me the bass cheap! Plays well!! Anyone know what model it is?? No numbers anywhere. Needs some TLC but over all in great condition! Neck is straight, solid wood body, very heavy!!

Cleaning, fresh strings and set up. Plays very good. Needs a little more tweaking. Ordered a KellingSound varitone wired harness for it. Some pics after the once over.

cool! and thanx for mentioning the KellingSound I'll add that to the list of things to check out.
for about $200 you have great and unique bass which can now serve you for a lifetime. score!
I am very Impressed with the KellingSound harness. No solder install!! I had to do some extra Routing of the control cavity. Stacked vol tone was much deeper than the original. I also installed copper shielding. Amazing array of tones you can dime in! $125 invested!! Neck is dead straight and able to get a very low action after a little Nut filing and adjustments.

I paid $30 because I helped the guy sell the Sunn Beta bass head he had with it. I sold it on reverb for $410. He sold me the bass for the shipping price of the amp. He offered me the package for $350. I couldn't take advantage of someone that way. The trade off was definitely ok in my book!:smug: 30 years or older is considered vintage regardless of price.

Looks like you got my twin sister. I bought this one because it came with a vintage fender hard case for 125.00. I was surprised at its tone, weight and condition (mint).

Cool! I went digging out of curiosity if more of these were out there in the world. I have one almost identical to yours. It was my first bass I got it for 100 dollars with a hard case 20 years ago. It’s been sitting under my folks house for god knows how long now. I’m doing some mods to mine, I always thought it was a turd but it’s cleaning up really nice and plays rather well. Better then I remember. So far I swapped the bridge and tuners for some old stuff that’s around the house. Pickups and electronics next. Thinking either emg gzr or Duncan’s maybe Lollar? not sure yet. Anyway cool!
