I sold my mapleglo 4003 not too long about because the 9.7lbs was too much. One of the best sounding basses I’ve ever owned.

Good to see the walnut "skunk stripe" back on the neck backs, it kind of randomly disappeared on Walnut Rics for a while, not sure why. Love the slightly lighter weight on the W models, reportedly about 1lb less than solid maple. What's the weight and balance like?

The lighter weight from using walnut instead of maple is nice, but the thing about these that really makes them special IMO is the satin finish. Gloss finishes feel sticky to me when I play them.

Well that and the looks! They're just beautiful. I got mine back in November and I've barely picked anything else up since then.

I’ll second that. Got mine about a month ago and haven’t played any of my others since. I was delightfully surprised by my new Ric. Better than I had hoped for.
