Hi Folks...
I'm a little late to the party, but I thought I would share the first roasted Mike Lull TP5.

I love it

Nordstrand Big Blades (instead of the usual Big Singles in the Avanti position)

Killer bass.
In the article, it mentioned the bridge pickup is in the '60s J position.
With the neck position pulled back, I wonder if it sits in roughly the same territory as the treble side of a P pickup.

Pretty close...I always reminded me off if you took a Muiscman Stingray pickup and separated the 2 coils about 1" ish....It really makes it tight sounding.

Very nice Lull there, congrats! I've got a passive Lull P5 loaded with a Nordstrand & it kills. They are amazing instruments!

Surprised Lull hasn't gone to the adjustment wheel for the truss rod.

I've read reports and reviews regarding roasted maple necks that state that from a sonic perspective, they're not as snappy vs. an unroasted maple neck... that the level of attack is a little "softer." One review specifically said if you're looking for the Marcus Miller slap tone, you should stick with an unroasted maple neck.

What say you?

I hope to share tracks soon....This is not a knock at Sean at BGM who is a great player, I just want to let folks know that it sounds very different in my hands then it does to the video He did.
We just play very differently.
