I saw this bass Scratch and Dent at GC for $260. These usually go for $699. Tag said "ELECTRONICS NOT WORKING. ALL SALES FINAL." I plugged it in and it worked, so I bought it as quickly as possible! Got it home and there was no sound. Turns out it was just a bad input jack! This baby is in perfect shape! 2017 serial.

I'm a 5-string guy but there was no way I could pass this up, but it's an amazing bass!

Great score! I bought a Schecter Stiletto Elite one time very cheaply because the neck pickup wasn't working, turns out the plug to the pickup (it was one of those EMG no soldering plug and play) had come loose and was detached from the pickup. Took me a whopping 2 minutes to plug it in and get it working. Do they even check to see what the problem is at GC?

They did check. The tech said it's definitely a bad jack. Then he said "at this price? BUY IT!"

Basically, when a cable is plugged all the way in, I get no sound. But if I pull it out ever so slightly, it works fine.

Replacing the jack is around $2, two solder joints...wonder why they didn't do it themselves and then bump up the price? Oh well, it's to your benefit.

After playing around more with the bass, I discovered that it has Active/Passive push/pull! However, in passive mode, there is only pickup blend. No passive tone...not sure how to feel about that. Also, it's not shielded!! Well, there is the black paint, but we know how that goes...

I will be tuning low ADGC eventually.
