NBD! Spector Legend Custom 5

Did I ever get lucky...

I was trolling eBay looking for an inexpensive used warwick 5 when I stumbled upon this beauty. It only ha one grainy picture but it looked pretty good so I followed up. Turns out the guy only lived an hour away from me so we settled up locally. He told me it was a used Legend 5 so I was pretty happy with a regular legend that had the optional bubinga top... After a little digging and an email to Spector turns out that I got a pretty good deal on the upgraded custom model!

Anyways, here are some pictures:

3 band active EQ, set neck, solid maple body with a bubinga top. Plays great and I LOVE the NS body shape. I think i'll start saving my pennies for an American model.

Congrats on a beautiful new to you bass!

Set neck? Looks like a NT joint to me, but I'm half a dummy.

I don't even know what an NT joint is or how it differs from a set neck! I'm just going by what the folks at Spector said. :D

The one thing I've noticed is that the E string is kinda dead. I think it has more to do with the string distance from the p/u than the bass itself so hopefully I can set that up so it doesn't buzz but gets a bit more output.

It is a set neck. The Legend series has either a bolt on or set neck. The Euro LX and U.S. NS series basses are neck-through. Unless it's a solid color finish, you can see the three piece neck run the length of the body on the front and back.

So after I reread my previous post I'm going to chalk this one up to a long week of teaching.... NT... neck through... WOW.... Definitely know the difference there.

Thanks for the clarification, their website states the same. My brain is obviously ready for the weekend and more playing!
