Last week I had a Rondo Music newsletter in my email.
Some things were on sale. The
SX URSA 3 JR MN ALDER 3TS SHORT SCALE was one of them.
I’ve been interested in SX basses for a while and since it was on sale...

Fit and finish is wonderful. No visible drips, runs or blemishes.
No sharp fret ends. No fret buzz. Sounds great. Feels and plays great.
Markedly better than my uber cheap Glarry and Exquisite basses. Nice HSC too!
Just needed to raise the P pup a tad.
Overall I’m impressed with $179 price. Total with HSC and shipping was $303. Tax was not charged.
Ordered last Saturday arrived this past Wednesday.

I noticed both on your bass and on the Rondo website the P pickup seems not to line up as well as the J PU, thoughts?

I have an old Cort Steinberger headless bass that the PUs didn't line up but the bass sound fine.
I'm wondering if there's room in the route to spread them out and file away at the pick guard, if I get one.

No impact on sound. I’ve seen this on oodles of P pups and I really don’t think it matters.

Now if it were a J pup or a MM then I believe it would definitely matter.

@JRA loves P/J basses and has seen this on quite a few and built a few and also believes it has no discernible affect on sound.

Even at that and with this new "higher" price range, It's still tolerable, IMHO
The neck can be loosened and shifted. Bridge PU can also be unscrewed and shifted in the PU route.

For $179 I am not complaining.
In life, I tend to see the glass half full rather than half empty.
Now, if it were a $1,500 MIA Fender something or other I'd definitely have an issue with it.

Don't get me wrong either about asking about PU alignment. I'm down to get one as is
While the Mustang/Bronco thing has intrigued me, I think this will fill the need.

Honestly, the USD 200 Cort Action DLX has much better factory assembly than this SX if problem can't fix after neck and bridge pickups adjustment done.

Wonderfully quartersawn maple in the neck. My SX Jazz has it too. Some companies charge a fat premium for that.

Looks like a great bass. That's one bass I had and sold that I regret letting go of.

I didn't see the Action Junior. Those look cool.
QC would not be an issue if they didn't offer a short scale, in that price range, for this discussion.
Since they do, it's a good option.
