Plays as good as it looks. One of my fellow scene-mates here has a real-deal 60's P (can't remember the exact year) in Fiesta Red, and I brought my CV P-Bass to a jam he was hosting one night. We swapped instruments for a tune or 2 and he was blown away by how much it felt like his bass... and I was shocked at how similar it was to his as well. In short, forget about the label on the headstock and focus on how it sounds, feels, and plays. There's a reason this was a highly regarded sweet spot with the 60's CV line.

I've always been a jazz player but bought one of these to have a go at a p-bass. Just couldn't bond with it. Love the look of this one, though. Everytime I see one, I can't help but think "maybe I should try a p-bass again .." who doesn't want to be like pino?!

Those made in China Squier basses put to shame many other basses in terms of quality. I wouldn’t be shy at all to bring such instruments on any stage.

Years ago, I had one just like yours. One of the best P basses I've ever owned.

Then I found my 2009 RW P in the same color. Another great. non U.S. Fender.

Oh yeah it came with a 200$ gator gig bag that had dead bugs in a single pocket of it so that was a bit of an unpleasant surprise.

Preferable to live bugs…or a live gator!

Because it says 'Designed and Backed by Fender'. Can confirm since I have a 2009 CV P-Bass in fiesta red too.

That’s heartbreaking, i hope you’re able to find yourself a replacement! They are pretty expensive but i got this one for 430$ with a 4” italia strap, a replacement bridge and an unopened set of the d’addario chromes. Always looking for that deal. I'd take a Festa Red, or the version one Blue if I could find one well priced. Great basses. Enjoy.
