Well, if it’s over-engineered and built like other Soviet gear, I suppose it could be useful as a weapon during the next zombie apocalypse.

Minor update:
The pickups are a healthy 14K output. I wonder if the low 68K pots will dampen them, or is that by design?
The truss rod is still rather weak. I installed a modern-style adjustment nut, but it doesn't seem to help as of now. I've heard that vintage truss rods need another way of adjustment? From another post I think the rod looks a bit like one of Rickenbacker's double rods.
The bridge is also a bit high, but I need to reassess it after straightening the neck. Worst case scenario I can replace it with a Tune-o-matic style bridge.

Please don’t try to bend the neck with the truss Rod. Flex it to a flatter profile then tighten the nut to hold the flex.

Unfortunately even that doesn't seem to work, and I've accidentally loosened the rod inside the neck. Time to go to the luthier's and get the rod replaced. I believe it's still worthwhile, since the current going rate (both locally and on eBay) seems to be able to recover the repairing cost, if I decide to resell it one day.
I found a Höfner neck that may fit it, and it doesn't cost too much (I mean, less than a truss rod replacement). I'd guess that it was a common modification to change a neck - I've seen a re-necked Jolana guitar for sale, and Jolana is a MUCH better brand than Ural!
