The gold, hands down.
Redburst reminds me too much of the guitars and basses I used to see at Two Guys and Great Eastern Mills.

These CinCity guys definitely do top-notch work!

I agree, The gold flake is very impressive.
My first Bass an Imperial MIJ bass from the Two Guys in Totowa. I didn't know Great Eastern even sold any instruments. I bought my Ric 4003 at Robbie's Music City in 1981. Every time I visit NJ, I wish I could still catch Ron Carter or Rufus Reid at Gulliver's.

Well how about that! I've been wanting to get a bass flaked for a long time now, and had been considering Marty Bell, but CinCity is near a lot of places I play in Cinci. Very, very good to know!

My buddy bought a redburst Mosrite copy at the Great Eastern in Greenbrook. I used to go to Two Guys in North Plainfield.
And I bought this at Robbie's two weeks ago. Best Jazz bass I've ever played…no 60-vycle hum!

A lot of the motorcycle guys refer to anything with big flake as a bass boat paint job.

I guess the gold flake isn't for me... yet. Give me a couple years and I might be more willing to go for the more exciting finishes.

Now I know, this is not everyone's cup of tea, but I have always wanted a heavy gold flake custom bass. Well, thanks to Sean at CinCityCustoms I now have a beauty! I parted together a Jazz bass several years ago. Always one of my favorites to play, but I was never happy with the color.

I had to try the La Bella 750G Gold White Nylon Tapewound Bass strings too. Much lighter tension than the rounds I usually use. Haven't decided if I'll keep them on yet, but they sure look purty on her!
