NBD Vintera 70s Tele Bass and a surprise

I really, really dig the new Vintera II 70's Telecaster Bass when they came out I bought a seafoam green one, while I love the bass I just couldn't get used to the color. What I really want was a vintage white one. The VW one arrived today and it's just as beautifully built as the seafoam green one.
So what to do with the seafoam green one you might ask? I acquired a original '74 Telecaster Bass body of eBay a few weeks ago so I decided to use the green one as a parts donor. The surgery went very well, everything fit great I didn't even have to break out the soldering iron. I'll sell the green body to recoup some of my costs but I am really pleased how everything turned out!

The end result looks great! I really like the natural, the vintage white also looks nice. Do they sound similar or a bit different?

Regardless, I hope you get a lot of enjoyment from these two.

Love those basses. Not as wooly sounding as an EB-0 and they play like any other 34" scale Fender.

The seafoam seemed like such an odd choice. If I was in charge it would have come in Natural white and black. Im still gassing for the white one, congrats!

...while I love the bass I just couldn't get used to the color.

that's funny to me only because i'm currently playing around with a parts-bass assembly project....seafoam green!

The wide range pickup has more treble response than a mudbucker but at 28k resistance they have a wooly tone all thier own.

I purchased the vintage white Vintera Tele Bass about a month ago. I chose that one from Sweetwater's inventory because it came in at less than 9 lbs; not a common occurance.

It's simply GREAT!!! I've barely touched my other 34" scale basses since.

I also get the dislike for the mint green version. While it might work for other guitars and basses, it's seems wrong for this bass.

Looks like the one I bought in 72! Mine was heavy, but sounded great. I loved the big humbucker with swing bass 66 strings. With those strings the tone control would dial in from bright and aggressive sounding back to a dull thud. Congrats!

nice, even the seafoam looks good, and not into that shade of green, but how do those sharped edge slabs feel if sitting with it on your thigh..i wanna build a true tele-guitar shaped bass someday soon...

Yes, @godofthunder59, sound comparison please ok vs new.

Having a 77 Tele and 65 EBO I can say the tele is brighter but mostly because the EBO has a .1uf cap across the electronics cutting all hi mid and up. Both so muscular, love ‘em.

I did it to the Squier VM TB I used to have. Made it sound more traditional P to my ears…
