Reminds me of my poor man's Wal. Turner Multicoil pickups and the Lusithand Double NFP Pre filtered pre-amp.

Additionally, I think this is the first time I've seen an Anka bass on TB! I've been seeing them on FB for awhile. Really beautiful stuff, and I've always been curious about the quality of the basses in terms of playability, etc. I'm hoping to see more of these out in the wild soon!

Please keep us updated as you settle in with the bass and "play it in." I'd really like to hear all the glowing positives as well as the small annoyances that may pop up as you spend more time with it.

That wiring is artwork in and of itself. I have a guy here in Nashville that takes just as much pride in his wiring, but uses some different techniques than Anka. Honestly... I'd want a clear cavity cover on mine just so I could show this off to my guitar nerd friends!

Dangit... I already have a wenge J neck from Warmoth that I was planning to build/assemble my next bass around.... but I might be giving Danny a call after New Year's.

Insanely good wiring. Best I've seen, along with Devon, Sadowsky NYC, and handmade Bacchus.

Sometimes called a “double action” truss rod. Guitar Truss Rod Types, Pro Tips, & How To Adjust (Ultimate Luthiers Guide)

The neck also has two carbon fiber rods in it for reinforcement. Between that and the five-piece laminate I may never need to actually adjust the truss rod…

Good pic of the control cavity. That’s exactly what I meant by the good kind of OCD. He’s like that with the whole thing. The fretwork is similarly impeccable, which just makes it a joy to play. Unfortunately I had to go out of town and it’s now sitting at home waiting for me to get back. I’ll report more as I get more time with it.

As someone who built industrial electrical panels early in my career, I've go a lot of appreciation for that control cavity. Tidiest I've ever seen!

Spare no expense, get the preferred choices everywhere, and even with that, it'd be about a third the price of a used Wal.

Would you mind telling us (roughly) what this gorgeous instrument cost, all in? Based on ^^^that I'm guessing it's somewhere in the $3k - $4k range, but would like to know if I'm the right ballpark. Stunning bass, and I may have to add Anka to my short list of My Next Bass Will Be A __________ !
