I picked up this body cheap a couple weeks ago.
I really wasn't looking for a project bass, a second one that is.
I'm having a custom P bass made. However, this body was calling me.
I was told it was a Sadowsky body made by Warmoth.
I've read here that in the beginning, Warmoth did make parts for Roger. Its a "Dinky" Jazz with a quilt top and a clear "half-guard".
Its beat up , but nice.
The seller threw in some Duncan SJB-1's, and the bridge.
I got a Jazz neck from Warmoth. Incredible fret work.
I'm tempted to leave it bare wood, or seal it minimally.
I picked up a used Bartolini MK-1 preamp from the classifieds here. Tuners are Schaller BML's.

The guy that assembled it for me drilled through the headstock, very slightly when he installed the tuners.
Other then that its really nice.
All used parts except for the neck and tuners.

I'm usually not one for bursts, but man... I love the interplay in the color and the figuring of the top of that body...

That's a pretty darn sweet bass you have there.

But I must say you've drawn my ire, because I've been trying to avoid the Warmoth site, as I'm GASing to build a Jazz with their parts. They've got some nice bodies in the showcase... Sigh...
