-Warmoth alder Jazz 5 body in Feasty Boys (flakesgiving 2025 special)
-Warmoth maple neck and board with vintage tint satin finish, carbon fiber stiffening rods
-Seymour Duncan quarter pounder p/j pickups
-Aguilar OBP-1 preamp wired vol/blend/stacked bass and treble
-Hipshot Kickass bridge
-Gotoh Resolite GRL510C-12 tuners
-DR Hi-beams tuned EADGC
-9.6 lbs

I love this purple monster! Fit and finish were perfect, only one fret was slightly high. I like medium action and I was able to set it up with way lower action than I normally go for. Warmoth doesn't offer an asymmetrical P5 route so I had to do that myself. I also had to sand the tuner holes slightly to fit the Resolites but it was worth it. Zero neck dive. This is my third bass made from all Warmoth parts and they never disappoint.

I’ve purchased a couple of Warmoth necks for Parts basses, and finally did a full Deluxe Jazz 5 build. I have to agree, best feeling, best playing bass I’ve ever owned.
Mine has an Ash body and Roasted Flame Maple neck, weighs 10 lbs even with 2 batteries.

How are you liking the OBP-1 with the QP’s?

My build is an MM-style and also have the OBP-1. I find that with bass/treble both at about 40-50% - that’s the “money” tone.

My one complaint is that the truss rod access channel they route into the body is too short for a standard Allen wrench, one that they even sell. I wound up cutting about 1/4” or 3/8” off the wrench for it to fit.

I did the same (I gotta remember to stop at the hardware store for a replacement 7/16 Allen key). Im loving the OBP-1. I used to play all passive for simplicity but I think boost only preamps are my go to now. I have a Sadowsky metro express pj 4 and I fell in love with that sonic combo. The Aguilar has the same eq points as the Sadowsky but with longer pot shafts. I usually have bass at 10% and treble at 15-20% playing rock mostly with a pick.

I did add a tone pot to mine, VVT + T/B stack, A/P and Series/Parallel switches.
