NBD! (WARNING: Tom Petty content...)

OK...check that...now that I'm awake...

This is what Tom Petty played in Mudcrutch.

OK, time for the big reveal. Apologies to those who were expecting Rick content. I don't believe I'll ever own one as the few I've tried were not comfortable for me. This is a case of "I want a precision" and "I want a 5 string" combined with an "accountant" (wife) who keeps my uncontrollable urges in check. Being "retired" now (cue loud old man voice) "I'M ON A FIXED INCOME". So, what was the answer? Sire! Marcus Miller P5R in tobacco sunburst.

I must say I'm impressed by the build quality and the pre-shipping setup by Sweetwater. I'm going to immediately throw a set of LaBella LTF's on it and tweek to taste. Love the feel of the rolled edges on the roasted maple neck that looks as if it might qualify as quartersawn. While I've had good luck with the Squiers I own, this caught my eye as a good bang-for-the-buck option. My main player is a mid 90's Carvin LB75 purchased for me by said accountant before we were even engaged. I bought a G&L L2500 tribute a couple years ago as a backup and put flats on that initially, but it sounds so good with rounds I couldn't leave it like that. I use those two in my rubbedinthedirtclassicrock cover band. I also play with some blues guys and that's where I've been using my 4 stringed FSO's with flats. I've run into some songs now where the 5 string option, while not necessary, would still sound good and the widening of the range of my bass voices leads me to this. More info after I change the strings and test drive it some more. So far, I'm very happy. :D:bassist:

PS- The little guy in blue jammies is my assistant and part of my retirement "job".
