Nitro finish? Otherwise... no wait needed
The sticker on the box says "wait", so I wait. The candy from the other package was frozen!![]()

C’mon, you’re wreckin’ me with these references and you don’t know how it feels!Congratulations, Ope, on running down a dream... shows what can be done when you won't back down.
I have seen a custom Hamer ruined in less than a minute. Cold to warm you better wait. It’s not the wood type. It’s the condensation, some of which can form beneath the finish it it’s a sudden change and the guitar is really cold. Especially if it’s new there’s an increased chance the wood isn't as dry as it should be.That's a lame, misguided label (Sweetwater). It's mainly for acoustics, and yes, nitro finishes. The sticker is a guideline, not gospel. Modern, solidbody instruments aren't made of balsa wood, so just set it up and play. If the neck moves later on, adjust it.

I had my first new bass, a 74 Precision with the usual thick poly, that came from a cold Minnesota band trailer to a warm venue and the finish cracked and checked in several places within a minute or so of opening the case. Your profile doesn't say what part of the country you're in, but you might not have experienced the kind of cold of places like Maine, Minnesota, and where I live now, in North Dakota. I had a a 1/2 case of wine delivered a few weeks ago and it had frozen enough to push out 4 of the 6 corks. If there was a bass on that UPS truck I definitely would have let it warm up for several hours. That's a lame, misguided label (Sweetwater). It's mainly for acoustics, and yes, nitro finishes.
