NBD!!! Warwick RockBass Corvette 5 - Question Enclosed

I will have to post pics later, I have to sweet talk the girlfriend into letting me use her camera. But I can tell you about it! :smug: The thing does have quite a fat neck, so that will take some getting used to, but its all good. The neck is smooth as glass, and plays wonderfully. The finish on the body is also smooth as glass, and is stunning. I got it in black, as you will soon see, and it is shiny and beautiful!! I played it through my Traynor 25 watt practice amp, and it sounded amazing compared to my other basses. I found the tone best with the pickups split in half, and everything else cranked fully. :bassist: The Warwick straplocks that came with it seem to work pretty well, at least good enough to use on stage. I do have a question however. The B string rattles when I play the 3rd fret, only that string, and only that fret. I tried raising the action on the string at the bridge and at the neck, but to no result. Any other ideas? I didn't mess with the action a large amount. Like I said, pics soon, and thanks for the help!

Pics, as promised. This one is of the bass. Don't judge me, it's in my girlfriends room. I may be able to get more pics, and better ones, if anyone wants them.

That's all I got for now, hope the pics work, I have almost no idea how to post them.

I will review mine for you so long although I doubt the OP will have a different experience.

The 2010 Rockbasses are apparently very different to previous models, which I have had no exposure to.

I have the 2010 Corvette $$ 5str. It has MEC p/ups passive electronics with push/pull knobs for series/parallel selection on each p/up.

What blows me away is the response this bass has. I get a lot of control by varying the way I pluck the strings, something my BTB never did.

The neck compares to my BTB, but a friend who played it says the neck feels thicker than his Yamaha TRB6. The neck is 21mm at the 1 fret and 25mm at the 15th fret. String spacing on mine is 16mm, but they can be had with wider string spacing (19mm). I wanted it for the narrow string spacing.

Sound is very warm, but the p/ups pack a lot of attack, which suits me, as I do not like to dig in to get sound to happen. Mine has a very low action, but getting the p/ups to the right height will take some fiddling, but it is like that for all basses.

I play anything from hard rock to gentle worship in church, and it delivers all the way. I also own a P/J config bass with upgraded pickups, and although the tone is brighter, i definitely miss the strength.

All in all......if I had money lying around I would get another like, just a fretless. The only downside is that it does look bland compared to some other basses, but build quality is the same as my BTB, which is excellent. There are no weird gaps and bad fitting parts.

Word of advice though, play with the setup, as even that bring a massive variance in the experience you have.
